I respect the opinion of other bible-loving Christians who feel differently than I do about various political issues. We don't get the vibe that some of our friends feel the same way. I think that is sad. Sometimes good and godly people come to different conclusions about wisdom decisions (such as should a believer vote against Clinton and for Trump should Trump win the GOP nomination? If Trump comes out on top will he betray the people/groups that helped him win the nomination, like "evangelical" leader Jerry Falwell Jr.)?
If you have Christian black friends (and I hope you do), some of them, no doubt, voted for Obama in 08 and 12 (I think 95% of blacks who identified themselves as protestant pulled the lever for Obama in 12). I trust you agreed to disagree with brother so and so and yet still came together around the table of the Lord and that after church you left preaching the same Christ (Rom. 1:16-17; Gal. 3:28). These are the points I have been trying to stress lately.

Trump is likely a Democrat running in the Republican primary yet no one REALLY knows how he would govern if he were elected president. (e.g. Would he nominate a liberal justice to the Supreme Court like President Obama/Clinton? We don't know). Most politicians (not all) say what they think they need to say to get elected- and they try and motivate their "base" in order to win the party nomination (sad, but true). The Dems rely heavily on those who identify as "secular." (Look at the presidential exit poll data for 2012). The GOP rely heavily on those who identify as religious/protestant/evangelical; so Trump had to try and build a "narrative" to court the influential "religious base" within the GOP. Obama and Clinton claim to be Christians too (Clinton preached at two churches this past Sunday). However, if Liberals talk too much about "how religious/Christian they are" and quote the bible too often many in the Dem's "secular" base would get upset and likely support someone else. Pelosi occasionally says she is a devout Roman Catholic...really? A pro-choice, pro LGBT, Roman Catholic (my devout Catholic friends say "no way" but now I digress). I see lots of people talking about what Trump has done as a lost pagan (he's the rich, old ruler we get it). I hear pastors (who I respect) mentioning that Donald has been married more times then Jennifer Lopez (Jn 4), that is he is "Stalin"-like, that he is a complete fraud, a liar, a con-artist, a narcissist of narcissists, and that he is a actually an unsuccessful billionaire businessman (is that possible?), etc.
Let me offer a slightly different perspective that I think needs to be said:
1) During Trump's last wedding, guess who came to CELEBRATE his latest marriage? The Obamas and the Clintons. Interesting, but really not surprising.
2) The Democratic "poster child" president (Bill Clinton) has had just as many nasty affairs as Trump- with one MAJOR difference. Clinton was in public office serving as an elected official during most of those sexual affairs (which are too many to count). Why might it be a dangerous and compromising situation when a President is having a sexual affair while serving in office? I have read enough history to know what power lovers often hold over kings/queens, etc. But more than that, former Democrat president (Clinton) LIED about these affairs while under oath more times then I can count (I did NOT have sex with that woman). Of course, JFK had many gals on the side too (perhaps former Republican presidents have had affairs too-idk). As you read about the Clintons and the marriage relationship they have (or don't have) it is clear Hillary did not forgive Bill and reconcile with him like Hosea did with Gomer... Mrs. Clinton stayed with "Slick" William b/c she has selfish ambition issues. Like Trump, she is willing to do and say what she needs to do and say to reach those goals. She has had her eyes on the White House for a long, long time. That is no secret.
The majority of Americans didn't really care about the Lewinsky scandal or the Starr report. Who cares if the President blatantly lied under oath, obstructed justice, etc? Many people consider the Clinton presidency to have been very successful; (unlike President Obama, Bill veered to the center after the Republican Revolution in 94, I respect him for that). As most people understand Bill Clinton is still a political rock star. So Hillary (who has never been popular with the masses) still needs Bill (because Bill has always been a crowd pleaser-no pun intended). This is one of a thousand things that could and should said about Bill/Hillary but I have not seen many stories like this the past 6 months. By the way, one in four professing "evangelicals" voted for Obama in 08.
I'm sure Hillary and the Dems love Trump for two reasons. A) Donald has been the focus of almost every Conservative hit piece (better him than us) and B) because they know the Donald is likely a progressive Republican or a Democrat of some stripe (sounds like a win-win). Sadly, the Clintons and Trump are similar in far too many ways.
3) A) Do I like Trump as a candidate? No, I do not. I do pray for his salvation and for the salvation of Obama and Hillary (1 Tim. 2:1-5). B) Will I be voting for him during the Illinois primary? No! C) Do I trust Trump? No, I can't say that I do. D) Having said that, do I think Trump will be a "worse" president than Hillary Clinton? No, I do not. As a Christian/pastor/husband/father am I more "concerned" about a Clinton presidency (four more years of Obama's new America)? Yes, I am. Here are a few articles that highlight the anti-Christian bent of Liberal Democrats as they work together to achieve Obama's campaign promise to "fundamentally transform the United States of America:" Christian Baker forced to pay homosexual couple 135k for not baking cakes for their wedding. If these Christian business owners refuse to comply with Oregon law the state will shut down their business (conform or else). Private Christian school sued by lesbian couple for not educating their kid according to their "values" and for not allowing their child to remain a student. Christian minority fire chief terminated for having personal Christian beliefs. A gay mayor in Houston attempted to subpoena the sermons of Christian pastors (her efforts failed after national uproar). Kim Davis spent five days in jail for not issuing marriage licences to same sex couples. Hillary Clinton will continue to faithfully serve the Liberal agenda because she shares the same ideology as President Obama (who knows what Trump will do if he is elected?) Compromising Christians don't really have anything to be concerned about post-November election since they will continue to conform in order to avoid hardship. Last but not least, if the election comes down to Clinton and Trump do I think it is unwise (or sinful) to vote for Trump in a two party political system...? No, my wife and I don't feel this way right now- but we also respect those who feel differently. Every believer should vote (or not vote) in faith (according to conscience). In essentials unity, in non-essential liberty, in all things charity.
Grace and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ.
